    • Potential revenue or other benefits to the partnering communities from the sale of fibre.

    • Potential to provide local employment to companies and individuals through activities such as harvesting, recreation trail building and maintenance, tree planting, fuel management treatments etc.

    • Opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous education and capacity building.

    • Foster forest management collaboration between the three partnering communities, local interest groups (e.g. recreation groups, wildlife organizations etc.), Indigenous communities, forest companies, government agencies etc.

    • Recognize the key role that Pacific Woodtech (PWT) (formerly Louisiana Pacific’s Golden Division) plays in the community including significant employment of local residents.

      • PWT is valued by the GACFT as a partner in the success of the communities and the community forest.

      • The proposed community forest will seek to develop a productive and collaborative relationship with PWT, which includes proactive engagement during the development of the community forest.
